Profhilo® Structura is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment developed specifically to address age-related changes within the superficial fat compartments of the face.

What Is Profhilo Structura?

Profhilo Structura is part of the Profhilo family but has been developed for a different purpose from the original Profhilo treatment.

It uses patented NAHYCO® technology to combine high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid in a formulation designed to interact with the superficial adipose tissue of the face.

Profhilo Structura contains a total of 90 mg of hyaluronic acid in 2 ml: 45 mg of high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and 45 mg of low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid.

Rather than simply filling a hollow or creating projection in the way a traditional dermal filler may do, Profhilo Structura is intended to support age-related changes within the superficial facial fat compartments.

Why Does Facial Fat Change as We Age?

Facial ageing involves much more than changes in the skin itself.

Over time, changes can occur within the skin, ligaments, muscles, bone and the different fat compartments that help support the shape of the face.

Consultation

Your appointment begins with an assessment of your facial structure, skin, areas of hollowing or tissue descent and the changes that are concerning you.

We will discuss whether Profhilo Structura is suitable or whether a different treatment would better address your goals.

Treatment

Profhilo Structura is placed within carefully selected superficial facial fat compartments using an injection technique appropriate to your facial anatomy.

A cannula may be used to distribute the product through the selected treatment area while limiting the number of entry points required.

Aftercare

Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur around the treatment areas or cannula entry points.

You will be given appropriate aftercare advice following your appointment.

How Many Profhilo Structura Treatments Will I Need?

A typical initial Profhilo Structura protocol consists of two treatment sessions approximately one month apart.

Some clients may require an additional treatment depending on the degree of facial ageing and individual response.

Maintenance treatment can then be discussed according to your results and how your facial tissues change over time.

When Will I See Results?

Profhilo Structura is not intended to create an exaggerated or immediately obvious filler-style effect.

Changes are assessed gradually following treatment, with the aim of improving support and facial contours while retaining a natural appearance.

Is Profhilo Structura a Dermal Filler?

Profhilo Structura contains hyaluronic acid, but its formulation and treatment objective differ from those of a traditional volumising dermal filler.

Traditional fillers are commonly used to create or restore volume at specific anatomical points, shape features or provide projection.

Profhilo Structura has instead been developed to work with superficial adipose tissue and age-related structural changes within the face.

Which approach is appropriate depends on your anatomy and the type of change you would like to address.

Profhilo Structura or Sculptra?

Both Profhilo Structura and Sculptra can form part of a treatment plan for facial ageing, but they work very differently.

Profhilo Structura is a hyaluronic acid treatment designed specifically around superficial facial adipose tissue and structural support.

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid and works by stimulating gradual collagen production over time.
