Advanced aesthetics & skin treatments in Brentwood, Essex
Profhilo® is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment designed to improve skin hydration, texture, firmness and overall skin quality.
At Derma Aesthetics Clinic in Brentwood, Profhilo is suitable for clients who want fresher, smoother and more hydrated-looking skin without adding the type of facial volume normally associated with traditional dermal fillers.

Profhilo is made using stabilised hyaluronic acid and patented NAHYCO® technology. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within the body and plays an important role in maintaining moisture within the skin.
Unlike a traditional dermal filler, Profhilo is not primarily designed to reshape facial features or create volume. Instead, it is placed beneath the skin where it disperses through the surrounding tissue with the aim of improving hydration and overall skin quality.

Profhilo is injected at carefully selected points beneath the skin. The hyaluronic acid attracts and retains moisture while also supporting biological processes associated with collagen and elastin within the skin.
Rather than filling an individual wrinkle, treatment is intended to improve the condition of the surrounding skin more generally.
Over the following weeks, clients may notice improvements in hydration, smoothness, elasticity and radiance.
Depending on your skin and treatment goals, Profhilo may help with:
The treatment is designed to support skin quality rather than create dramatic changes in facial shape or volume.
Profhilo is most commonly associated with treatment of the face and neck, but other areas showing dehydration, laxity or crepey skin may also be considered.
Depending on your individual assessment, treatment areas can include:
If visible signs of ageing are your main concern, you can also explore our ageing skin treatments.
The images below show examples of Profhilo treatment results. Individual results vary according to factors including age, skin condition, treatment area and individual response.

Your treatment begins with a consultation where we assess your skin, medical history, previous treatments and the areas you would like to improve.
We will discuss whether Profhilo is appropriate or whether another skin-quality treatment may better suit your concerns.
Profhilo is administered using a small number of carefully selected injection points.
For facial treatment, a commonly used technique involves specific Bio Aesthetic Points designed to allow the product to disperse through the surrounding tissue while limiting unnecessary injection sites.
The exact treatment pattern may vary according to the area being treated and your individual needs.
Small raised bumps may be visible at some injection points immediately after treatment. These usually settle as the product disperses.
Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising can also occur.
You will be given appropriate aftercare guidance following your appointment.
A common initial Profhilo protocol consists of two treatment sessions approximately four weeks apart.
Some clients may benefit from additional treatment depending on their skin condition, age and individual response.
Maintenance treatment can then be discussed according to how your skin responds and the results you would like to maintain.
Profhilo does not usually create an immediate volumising effect. Improvements develop gradually as skin hydration and quality change following treatment.
Some clients notice their skin feels more hydrated relatively early, while improvements in texture and firmness may become more apparent over the following weeks and after the second treatment.
Individual results vary.
Downtime is generally limited, although temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, small injection-site bumps or bruising can occur.
Many clients are able to return to their normal daily activities relatively quickly, but it is sensible to allow for the possibility of visible injection sites or bruising when planning treatment around important events.
Profhilo is not suitable for everyone. Treatment may need to be avoided or postponed in circumstances including:
Your medical history and suitability will be assessed before treatment.
Profhilo and traditional skin boosters can both improve hydration and skin quality, but they use different formulations and treatment approaches.

Profhilo and Sculptra are both used within ageing and rejuvenation treatment plans but work in very different ways.
Profhilo primarily focuses on hydration and skin quality, while Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating injectable designed to produce gradual structural changes over time.
For a detailed comparison, read our guide Sculptra vs Profhilo: Which Is Right for You?.
Although both are part of the Profhilo family, Profhilo and Profhilo Structura are designed for different treatment goals.
Profhilo is primarily used to improve hydration and skin quality, while Profhilo Structura is intended for selected age-related structural changes and superficial facial fat compartments.
We can advise which approach is more appropriate following assessment.
We also offer other injectable treatments aimed at hydration and skin quality, including:
The best option depends on your skin, treatment area, concerns and the type of result you would like to achieve.
Skin ageing can involve several different changes, including dehydration, fine lines, pigmentation, changes in firmness and loss of facial volume.
Profhilo can be useful where skin quality and hydration are prominent concerns, but other treatments may be more appropriate where muscle movement, pigmentation or structural volume loss are the main issue.
